Legal court challenge outcome & disappointment

This week, I didn’t feel that I wanted to write a blog like I always do every week on the daily basis. But i have to write at least one blog post now that this week (7th to 13th February 2022) has almost come to the end. It is regarding my legal challenge against Barclays and Travel Unravel which I have been keeping you my readers up to date from nearly a year. & if you are not aware of my situation, please go and read my previous blog posts by clicking “archived” or typing it on the search bar. I have done enough of linking my previous blog posts about my court challenge against both defendants right on this blog.

Now about my legal situation between myself & Travel Unravel fraudsters & Barclays Bank

Unfortunately, I didn’t win my legal court case against Barclays & Travel Unravel on Monday. It has been rough week for me and my father.

Here is what I got to say about this given I was not very impressed this week given it didn’t go my way as I hoped and prayed for.

I didn’t win my legal challenge against Barclays (plus I already knew myself & my dad didn’t stand a chance despite Barclays had failed to really understand the fact of why I was being victimised of Travel Unravel scammers). No duty of care from my bank when they added me in overdraft debt February last year after taking the same amount which I reported it as an fraudulent given Travel Unravel defrauded me & my dad.

You know why my court challenge was being diminished by the judge.

1. Prior to Monday 7th February 2022 court date, I gave my phone number & my dad’s phone number. They didn’t bothered to call me (except my own father who used to be a lawyer) & I checked on my phone missed call list & none of it appeared. Not even “No caller ID”. I even provided my phone number & dad’s phone number already to the solicitors of Barclays (TLT) due to their requests. It’s ludicrous.

I am very disappointed with the court (Barnet county court in Finchley Central) for not being able to give me a call which I had provided them.

2. Travel Unravel fraudsters & the cheque. With the the fact I have lost a case to Barclays, Travel Unravel despite they failed to pay attention from the entire 2021 last year given they failed to give me a money when myself & dad requested it & they illegally hold my money & made up lies that they didn’t have my bank account details which I know for the fact it is not true & I can’t believe the Judge took their words despite they (scammers) does not have evidence that is different than mine.

3. I would have to pay money all for court legal fees (which I know that is not possible because I happened to be on benefits (although I am not really going to disclose what benefits I am claiming)  despite I am actively looking for work) with the fact that Barclays & their lawyers won the motion & diminishing my legal challenge against them. This is something that myself and my dad will figure it out together.

4. When I made a default judgment in spring last year, the court failed to give responses to my request of default judgment against Travel Unravel (which they failed to give responses throughout last year) given the fact that today’s motion got nothing to do with them (first defendant). Only second defendant (Barclays which they won the motion.  Not Travel Unravel).

So my legal challenge against Barclays is over but not Travel Unravel & it is far from over because it is all about damages. Not just about how they defrauded me & illegally hold my money. Now myself & my dad are now thinking of what would be the next steps given that my dad would be talking to his own friends who are lawyers. As for me, I deposited the cheque (the one the fraudsters tried to bribe me) into my bank account. That’s where I started the process on Monday’s evening of moving away my money & not letting Barclays to hold my money any longer.

No caller ID listed on Monday’s phone calls on my phone. Just my own contacts (my parents). I am very disappointed with the court for not contacting me given I did provided my phone number & my dad’s phone number.

On that Monday evening, I already sent my money to Monzo bank account which I just opened few weeks ago & I opened another bank account with HSBC. I already knew that I will not continue banking with Barclays & Monday’s court case motion, it just shows that Barclays reaffirming what they said last year’s February. Saying that was “no fraud” which I know they have totally failed to understand as they really are in denial.

& what is shocking is that my own bank sides with Travel Unravel scammers. How can I be a bank customer with them who say that they are strongly against scams & fraud & yet, done the opposite? It makes zero sense.

As the result of it, I am definitely closing my Barclays account for good & that there won’t be anymore money going into my Barclays account (including monthly standing orders from my mother).

Barclays (my own bank) had let it happened last year when I was victimised of fraud & they didn’t provided a duty of care when I reported as an fraudulent transaction (yet they claimed “no fraud” & took the same amount. Putting me in overdraft for a brief time). Contradicting their own policy against fraud in all forms which the bank is supposed to give customers a duty of care & not turning a blind eye. Well in my own experience, Barclays has turned a blind eye on fraud.

I have been banking with Barclays for 12 years (12 years & 3 months - November 2009 when I first opened a bank account with the help of my mum when I was 14. Although I could had waited until I was 16 years old as I was too young but I insisted that I wanted to have my own money & not having to get pocket money from my mother. At the time when I opened a bank account, it was young person’s account).

I am already feeling let down by Barclays about overdraft last year & now Monday’s motion with Travel Unravel by reaffirming that there is no “fraud” & sides with Travel Unravel fraudsters like they did 12 months ago (February last year). I already knew eventually that I won’t continue banking with Barclays & I have always knew it from February last year to the day before yesterday - Monday (& this is going to turn into reality). Banking with different bank & that’s why I’ll be banking with HSBC for now on.

They (Barclays) say they protect Barclays customers from fraud with guidebooks & guidances. For me, I say enough is enough. I am done with Barclays. For good.

They’ll going to lose me as Barclays customer given I have been banking with them since November 2009 (12 years & 3 months). My first UK bank account. Now coming to an end. At least not straight away but eventually, it will end.

They didn’t protect me from fraud & scam from Travel Unravel except on three occasions in 2019: Scammers from US gun site & Hong Kong/Dutch game site, Paris rogue taxi driver & mum’s HMRC tax scam & my disabled brother’s carer’s  scam (last year - clickbait advertising internet scam). You can read more on my February 2021 blog post

I am not going to continue with the bank who say that they are against scams & fraud & do the opposite (like they did with Travel Unravel). It’s over for me. I knew this day would come & this is the day I say I am no longer to be happy & proud with banking with them.

I want a bank that they’ll look me after financially, protect me from all forms of scams, fraud & any future transactions that may be dodgy & not genuine. I want a bank that can give me satisfaction & trouble free with a peace of mind. No lies & no mind games or any kind of foolishness/stupidity. & I want the bank who can give me dignity & respect.

With Barclays, as of 2021, I started to feel not happy with them given on my previous experiences with scam in 2019. With the new bank HSBC, I hope that I can move on from the years with Barclays & starting a new future with HSBC.

So that is all I said in 2021 that I have been wanting to switch bank accounts for quite some time (since February 2021 after I found out I was placed in overdraft).

And finally, every single bank in the UK (including Barclays) are active members of the anti fraud campaign “Take Five”. & yet one of the bank (I am obviously talking of Barclays) have completely contradicted it. https://www.takefive-stopfraud.org.uk/

Myself & my dad will figuring out what will be our next steps going forward as we are still reeling from the loss of my legal challenge against Travel Unravel Private Holidays Limited & Barclays. Given the thousands of complaints online about Travel Unravel, it really points to fraud.

At least already I am done with Barclays for good.

So that is all I will say about it. At least for now.

Have a great week & hopefully this week, I’ll get back to talk about the topics that I do want to talk. Rather than talking about struggles in my own personal life.
