Living with Covid shouldn’t mean endangering anyone’s health

This week, the government here in the United Kingdom have announced that instead of March 2022 (next month which it would had been two years since the first lockdown), Covid 19 measures including the requirement to self isolate if tested positive for Covid will be dropped completely and as of Thursday, it has been already been dropped.

Also in London, the compulsory mask mandate on Transport For London is now no longer be mandatory and that once again, it is optional. In another words, it is personal choice whether to wear a face mask on public transport in London.

Here is my opinion on this

As the The Queen tested positive for Covid 19 recently at the last weekend, Prime Minister Boris Johnson have really done unthinkable. Rushing things to get rid of all Covid rules including the requirement to self isolate. I know that since day one that Boris Johnson have been mishandling the coronavirus situation. Thursday 24th February was another date on the calendar for “Freedom Day”. Like it was the case on 19th July 2021. I even talked about it in the summer

Just because we have to live with Covid in the same way as flu, doesn’t mean endangering any person’s health so I said many times before that the coronavirus pandemic is not over. Unfortunately for the government & PM Boris Johnson, it is over here in the UK. What an arrogant prime minister. No wonder he has done that to save his own skin from the partygate scandal that could eventually mean the end of his premiership.

Getting rid of the remaining Covid 19 measures including the requirement to self isolate. Lateral flow test:charged (not being free), etc. All in the name of living with Covid & being free. The pandemic is far from over.

Boris thinks he can take a victory lap as if Covid 19 is no longer presence in the UK. Although I don’t want anymore lockdowns (since I can understand why everyone is fed up of lockdown measures), I know for the fact the government have been mishandling the Covid situation since day 1 (early 2020 - two years) and they still do to this day.

The only way the pandemic can be over is where countries around the world vaccinate their own populations to end anymore pain & tragic losses due to the virus. Unfortunately the world are nowhere near to the point that where the pandemic can eventually be declared over & it is all because of vaccine inequality in the countries that are poor third world countries. Countries that are not rich like developed countries in the West who are rich (which obviously does include Britain).

So I am tired of all the nonsense from the government & the Prime Minister. Always saying they acted on “scientific advice” which they always done the opposite of it. I hope and pray that the virus can be contained & not being so rampant so that there won’t be anymore Covid 19 variants who could potentially disrupts businesses globally & our lives. After all, everyone wants normality back. But right now, we are dealing with the fallouts of the pandemic. Inflation, supply chain crisis & yes obviously Brexit. Also the cost of living crisis, continuing rise of food banks all because of 12 years of austerity, climate change and the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

And finally, I end this with this following words. Boris Johnson have done the opposite. Yes, we have to live with Covid in the same way as flu but ending free Covid test (LFT) by replacing it with a price on 1st of April (April Fools Day) & forcing sick people to go to work if they have a covid & feeling sick. That’s madness. No wonder he boasted about the sick pay being covered in avenge worker’s salaries in Germany. While here it is 19% compared to Germany with 100% https://www.theguardian.com/world/2022/feb/23/johnsons-germany-comparison-highlights-uk-sick-pay-deficit If I do catch Covid despite I am triple vaccinated, in the situation, I wouldn’t go to work feeling sick either with Covid or any form of sickness. That all applies to everybody. Unfortunately it is not seemingly the case with Boris Johnson’s government. My friend Roger talked about it on his blog that his wife recently got Covid and his studio manager at his business.

So people, let’s continue to stay safe as always & please wear a mask & not allow yourself to be deceived by the government due to their contradictions on the coronavirus regulations & if you are not yet vaccinated, get a dose of the vaccine (first dose, second dose, third dose/booster).

That is I will say about this for now.
