Post Brexit trade deal with Uncle Sam

Post Brexit trade deal with Uncle Sam. UK - US trade deal. πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ

For more than 3 years since 2017, we have been hearing a lot about the concerns about having the controversial and dangerous imports from the United States.

GM crops, beef hormones and yes, chlorinated chicken.

Why wasn’t it been mentioned when the UK held the 2016 Brexit referendum? Despite Leavers would had deemed it “project fear”, if there was mentioned (beef injected hormones and chorine washed chicken from the US) then we (the UK) wouldn’t been in this situation.

No wonder the 68% of exports to the European Union is down due to the lies and selfishness of the Brexiteers including those from Vote Leave campaign (Michael Gove, Priti Patel and yes, Boris Johnson).

Also before that, there were big concerns about the proposed US - EU trade deal (TTIP) which was never been agreed regarding provisions like privatisation & the power for corporations to sue governments. So why the UK are being so desperate for trade deal with the world’s largest economy and the world’s superpower the United States of America?

From 13 colonies (13 US states) under the British rule to independence & from past events including WW2, when people say “special relationship, it’s the US and the UK. Given the relations between the UK and the US (relationship between both nations) are strong and that they are strong allies, partners and friends. Common history & the common language (English). Up until Brexit, I am sure you remember when US President Barack Obama came to the UK in 2016 & said about Brexit given he was against it. He said that the UK will be “back of the queue”. Guess what? He was right. amp.theguardian.com

google.co.uk Foolishly, Boris Johnson racially said that he (Obama) is “part Kenyan with the ancestral dislike with the British Empire”.

Even Donald Trump (pro Brexit & the protectionist US President) wanted to do trade deal with the UK and as of last month, no US trade deal have been agreed. The New Administration under Joe Biden doesn’t really want to sign any trade deals at the moment which includes the potential UK - US trade deal post Brexit. ft.com Especially Joe Biden is no fan of Brexit & that he has Irish roots (as he was VP under Obama) & the recent threat for the UK to violate international law (part of the Brexit withdrawal agreement & the Good Friday agreement) which the government had already dropped their plans to do so.

Now since I am very satisfied that Donald Trump lose the election to Joe Biden & that he (Trump) is not in the White House anymore, as for the potential UK - US trade deal post Brexit, the concerns about having banned controversial US imports like beef injected hormones and chlorinated chicken to the UK will not go away.

The UK govt keep saying that they won’t lower our standards in the name of allowing banned US imports (chlorinated chicken and beef hormones) to the UK supermarkets. Even if there is a deal (US - UK trade deal), no UK supermarkets (Tesco, Waitrose, Co-op, Mark & Spencer, Asda, Sainsbury’s, Morrison’s and Aldi) would ever want to sell controversial beef injected hormones & chlorinated chicken in their own stores from America. It’s a recipe for disaster.

On top of it, the UK - US trade deal shouldn’t cover any ludicrous provisions like selling off the NHS to US corporations, ditching European standards by adopting American standards which it wouldn’t be good for post Brexit UK food standards such as both of them (as I mentioned. Beef hormones and chlorinated chicken). They are banned entirely in Europe so the ban on any banned US imports should stay that way even the UK is outside the European Union.

So yeah, that is all I can say about the UK wanting to strike a trade deal with Uncle Sam. Despite Uncle Sam himself has priorities including dealing with the coronavirus pandemic in the US.

Really, it shouldn’t had been that way. The UK seeking trade deals for every country to have it given the EU27 has many trade deals which the UK was part of.

Now just like Obama said almost 5 years ago that the UK would be “back of the queue” with trade deal with the US & the UK is really in the back of the queue. Even Trump really wanted to strike a trade deal with the UK which it didn’t really happened successfully & Biden has other things to do so he ain’t got that for wanting trade deals with any country including the United Kingdom at this moment.

So therefore, there wouldn’t be UK - US trade deal anytime soon. & when it does happen eventually, I hope chlorinated chicken and beef hormones aren’t part of the deal. If does then it would be disastrous deal for the UK & nobody would want to get sick of buying and eating something that would completely be dangerously bad for everybody’s health. google.co.uk

I hope this should not become the case, should the UK - US trade deal occur. Only time will tell. For now, there are no rush for UK -US trade deal at the moment as the Covid pandemic needs to totally be eradicated first & then maybe, negotiations for the UK - US trade deal.

After all, the UK and the US are close allies.
