UK: The end of social distancing & mask wearing?

Couple of months ago, I wrote a blog post about the zero Covid strategy due to the government’s continued uselessness of handing the Covid situation in the UK & the failure to adopt the zero Covid strategy. mrlimitless95.blogspot.com

Delta Variant (originate from India) have been expanding since April this year & now with so much rise of recorded cases of Covid 19 variant, it looks that Covid will not go anywhere anytime soon. Despite the success of vaccine rollout and the plans for booster vaccines in autumn, it is another unfortunate & sad reminder unfortunately that we have to live with the virus (coronavirus). Like a flu (influenza except we know Covid is not a flu & yet Matt Hancock’s successor Sajid Javid the new UK Health Secretary suggests otherwise). news.sky.com Even when the pandemic is eventually over. Singapore is seemingly moving in the direction. google.co.uk

But the idea that mask wearing and social distancing to come to the end according to the UK government is very ludicrous.

Even they still wouldn’t want to adopt zero Covid strategy like New Zealand and other countries. Jacinda Ardern (New Zealand Prime Minister) gets all the praise of handling the coronavirus situation successfully. amp.theguardian.com Now the Delta Variant could possibly impact the country like it already impacted Australia. google.co.uk

No wonder they (the govt) postponed plans to lift lockdown measures completely on 21st June 2021 (the so called “freedom day”). All because of the govt’s selfishness to not tackle with the delta Variant because Boris Johnson (Prime Minister) didn’t wanted to upset Narendra Modi (Indian PM) by not closing borders & putting India on the Red List.

This to tell you that they are very weakly incompetent government. With no mask wearing and social distancing on July 19th (when it will no longer be compulsory & it would be a matter of personal choice), how will that achieve? It will achieve nothing except letting Covid 19 virus to be rampant. No wonder that there are more than million people in England have suffered with symptoms of Long Covid. bbc.com

If that is the direction, then there will be more people to catch Covid and then at some point, end up having a long Covid (& even not being fully vaccinated by having two doses of the Covid vaccine). It will be a catastrophe.

And on top of that, my friend from Spain who told me that the Spanish people had stopped wearing a mask as it was no longer compulsory. google.co.uk

The bottom line is that we do not need herd immunity via naturally with many unvaccinated people & children to be the carriers of Covid. Unfortunately, this is the approach that the govt wants to take. Instead of herd immunity via vaccination in terms of getting the enough population to be received with two doses of the vaccine in order to live our lives normally again. For me, I will continue to wear a face mask until at the least one day, the pandemic is over worldwide & in the country (United Kingdom). So for lifting Covid lockdown restrictions on 19th July by removing ditching face masks & social distancing, I am not fully convinced at all. Totally not convinced.

I don’t care if anti vaxx or some ignorant person who wouldn’t want to wear a face mask & believes disinformation about Covid, vaccine and face mask, I will continue to wear a face mask because it does reduce a transmission & that it does protect you & me from any possible transmission of Covid. google.co.uk Even Boris Johnson foolishly ditched two metres social distancing by reducing to one metre or one metre plus.

So yeah, the wearing of face mask should continue. Even if it is not mandatory anymore due to the stupidity of the government. No wonder they always claimed that they followed the science.

I know that we have suffered enough during the pandemic throughout last year and this year but I have to tell you guys. We are not there so let’s all just trust on the vaccine rollout that can put a end to the coronavirus pandemic worldwide. Including in my country (United Kingdom) & your country. Instead of listening to the government who do not have a logical and sensible approach of how to deal with the Covid situation successfully.
