Malta Guinness: The brand you never heard of

When person say Guinness, everyone knows the well known Irish alcoholic brand of beer. ☘️๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ช๐Ÿบ

But when the person say “Malta Guinness”, no one has ever heard of the brand unless if you happened to be from West Africa ๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡ญ๐Ÿ‡ณ๐Ÿ‡ฌ or you know the brand because you either have parents or know someone who is from countries in West Africa like Ghana, Nigeria, etc. it is mainly because of the fact that Malta Guinness brand is not widely well known outside West Africa.

Now you may be wondering what is Malta Guinness?

Malta Guinness is a malt drink. It’s an non alcoholic sweet drink. It is produced by Diageo.

Produced in Nigeria and exported to the UK, Malaysia and east Africa. Also South Africa as a well since the sale of Malta Guinness are available in Johannesburg.

And no Malta Guinness does not come from the country Malta ๐Ÿ‡ฒ๐Ÿ‡น despite two words “Malta” & “Guinness” are mixed into together as an non alcoholic version of the Guinness brand. In other words, Malta Guinness is a variety of the brand Guinness. So Malta Guinness brand originates from Nigeria. ๐Ÿ‡ณ๐Ÿ‡ฌIn addition, there is an company who is called Guinness Nigeria.

And finally here is the interesting fact about Malta Guinness. The first country who launched Malta Guinness in the year 1984 was Cameroon. ๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ฒ

So when you taste the drink of soft drink Malta Guinnesss, it is basically tasted like a root beer. I first tasted the drink couple of years ago when I was dining at the Ghanaian restaurant in Burnt Oak.

Malta Guinness has an information for ingredients: Carbonated water, sugar, maize, sorghum, Bartley Malt Extract, sorghum malt, caramel, hops from stabiliser and B vitamins. I highly recommend if you want to drink a cold Malta Guinness, store it in cold fridge. The brand really does have finest ingredients and vitamins that can make you go wow with a “top of the world” feeling. Both bottle and cans are 330ml each. Zero fat, zero salt, zero sodium, zero dietary fibre.

Although within Malta Guinness typical nutrition information, there are sugar (I wouldn’t recommend any person if you do have diabetes or that you are going on diet in order to cut down on sugar. Just saying. Sugar = 11 grams), energy, protein (0.3 gram) and carbohydrates (14 grams).

I know there are plenty of shops (some are corners shops & African shop) that sells Malta Guinness in some places in London including Finchley, Colindale, Hackney, Abbey Wood & some places where are the presence of people who are originally from Nigeria or any part of Africa. Particularly West African countries like Ghana.

So here are the TV adverts/commercials that are not aired in the UK. Only in West Africa.
