Eat Out to Help Out (Sunak Meal Deal) was awfully disaster

This week, we’ll hear the UK Chancellor of The Exchequer delivering his second budget on Wednesday 3rd March 2021 to forecast the shaping of the finances of the UK for the economy.

Recently I heard the speculation that the Chancellor Rishi Sunak wants to bring back the discount scheme that driven up the coronavirus infections last summer (summer of 2020). His meal deal = Eat Out to Help Out. t.co youtu.be

Even Deliveroo wanted that idea to be brought back as well. t.co t.co t.co youtu.be youtu.be

Well I have got something to say. I regretted of taking a part of Rishi Sunak Meal Deal (as I only done twice & i felt bad for doing so even the discount was great but still, it’s a rubbish idea) . At the beginning, I already knew the scheme (Eat Out to Help Out) might help the struggling businesses in the hospitality sector who been hit by Covid whilst, it would also cause a rise of coronavirus infections which that led to second wave & second national lockdown in England.

It really has no logic. Eat Out to Help Out.

At that time, it was only used in August for Mondays and Wednesdays. Many restaurants, pubs & take ways restaurants participated in the scheme. Now I can understand why the hospitality firms have been hit badly by Covid, but for the Chancellor Rishi Sunak to come up with the idea which would proved to be danger in terms of rise of Covid 19 infections, it was nothing but awfully disaster. Sunak should had come up with different measures financially & economically that would had helped out businesses. I really don’t understand why British media outlets admired & portrayed the Chancellor as if he is “charming”, “superman” & the “next prime minister in waiting” which for me in my opinion, he is just another Tory politician who cares about self interest. Not ordinary people in the UK.

barneteye.blogspot.com My friend and fellow blogger Roger wrote a blog about Eat Out to Help Out scheme which the scheme itself (Eat Out to Help Out) was not an proper economic strategy.

In addition, according to the University of Warwick, “the sharp increase in Covid 19 infection clusters emerged a week after the scheme began”. google.co.uk “Research suggests that between 8% and 17% of newly detected infection clusters can be linked to the scheme”.

So in other words, how can we all the British public ever supported the scheme & even gone to the restaurant for dining in or for take away (or both) & not knowing that it had the potential to be problematic to cause new infections of Coronavirus? Rishi Sunak has not done well including thinking sensibly & economically. Eat Out to Help Out wasn’t a good economic strategy at all.

So I hope and pray that the government better not include Eat Out to Help Out scheme in the Budget as the way to be brought back. It would had been disaster if that were to happen all over again.
