Russia invades Ukraine & the world is shocked

This is going to be a short blog post with my reactions to today’s news about Russian invasion of Ukraine.

For the last couple of weeks, I have been hoping and praying that the war between Ukraine and Russia can be avoided & the confrontation between the West & Russia regarding Ukraine’s desire of wanting to join NATO & the EU in the future.

Well today, I woke up to the news that Russia have invaded Ukraine. My initial reaction was “what the hell!!!”. I am shocked as everybody else.

Shame on the Russian president Vladimir Putin. The Russian dictatorial menace who is autocratic & has no regards when it comes to democracy & freedom. Bringing a suffering to the innocent people in Ukraine in the name of “peacekeeping”. How is that “peacekeeping” when the nation invaded the country like Ukraine who is an independent sovereign country despite the history when Ukraine used to be part of the Soviet Union. It is unfortunate that Putin who is ex KGB agent wants to revive the heydays of the USSR with imperialistic & nostalgic mindset. The Russian people doesn’t approve of their leader invading the country who is a neighbouring country to Russia. We all saw what happened when Crimea was annexed by Russia in 2014 & recently, Putin recognises two Eastern Ukraine breakaway regions (Donetsk & Luhansk) as an independent states. That stunned the global community all because of Russian aggression & Putin’s own self interests of wanting to restore the old glory of the USSR & does not give a damn about the Ukrainian people. So shame on him for being a menace not just to Ukraine but also Europe (now that the conflict has happened unfortunately for the first time since the end of WWII) & the world.

I hope and pray that the war in Ukraine & the confrontation between the West (the UK, the US & NATO) does not become WWIII. After all, nobody wants a war.

My thoughts and prayers goes to the Ukrainian people. They don’t deserve to live in fear. 🇺🇦😔
