Tea (British tea) is not British as we all have know for many years. It’s Chinese. π¬π§π¨π³☕️π«
Yes you have heard that right. It is not really British.
Here’s why.
Despite it is well known fact that the UK is the nation of tea drinkers, Tea originates in China. The UK stole tea from the Chinese when it was then The British Empire in 18th century whilst battling the Chinese in opium wars. Furthermore, hot beverage (tea) can be traced back to China so even I do sometimes drink tea, I cannot help but think that the tea is made somewhere & yet we the British claimed all the along that tea is ours without even realising where exactly it comes from & that it is not distinctly British.
So next thing if you hear anything media pundits (particularly Conservatives) saying Buy British & boycott non British items/products Tell any of them that tea (British tea) is made in China. Not made in Britain.
So yeah. British tea = Made in China. It seems someone may not be happy about it but you get the idea so that you do understand without any misunderstanding. Anyways, I guess I can make myself a cuppa. Cup of tea. πππ΅π¬π§π¨π³
