Covid: The way of work has been changed

At the start of this year in January, I recall writing a blog post. Remake the world post Covid 

The pandemic have been going on for a year now. Affected all the sectors of the global economy and every country’s economy including the UK’s economy. Resulting everybody to stay at home due to Covid measures. 

So that is the topic that I want to talk about today. The way of work has been changed. All thanks to the coronavirus pandemic. Why is that? Remote working (working from home). 

I recall reading the article in August 2020 last summer that they (the UK govt including Rishi Sunak & Boris Johnson) wanted everyone to go back to work (including office based workplaces). Even businesses wanted their employees to come back as they were & probably still are on furlough. Well it’s not easy, living with Covid. However the government (I am referring to the British govt & that should applies to other govts in the world) should understand that there are some people who wants to work at home (remote working) just to avoid public transport and journey to work by car (if someone happens who lives far). 

Plus during the pandemic, companies were & still are round of job cuts as there is short of job vacancy in the UK. It is really much harder to find a job during the pandemic than pre pandemic. bbc.com Warming that London could become a ghost town if staff are not back in work. Given we know very well that London (particularly City of London) is the financial hub & business hub. 

Then couple of weeks ago, empty offices in City of London will be converted into residential homes post Covid pandemic. google.co.uk 

It is clear to me that remote working is now part of our lives. Although remote work is nothing new & that it has existed before the Covid pandemic. 

It is time that we the people around the world embrace it. Especially now as we speak, firms are already doing a hybrid work. Between working in the workplace and working from home which i know it will continue post pandemic. It seems working from 9 to 5 in the workplace (including in work offices in big cities like London) may be the thing of the past & that remote working does offer flexibility. We are seeing the benefits of it. Even me as I am benefiting from remote working despite looking for work and that I just recently earned my first Google Adsense money from advertisement.  

It can be a good thing. Remote working.

After all, the world of work has been changed forever. 

Throughout history, changes can be either good or bad. Example: there used to be typewriters. Now there are computers. Pen pal writing letters. 

Now we live in the social media age. Even the iconic IPod (Apple MP3 player). Now there are music steaming sites like Spotify and Apple Music. 

With remote working (telecommuting) which is common for those who are teleworkers: Stay at home parent, homeworker, entrepreneur, digital nomand, content creator, traveller, social media personality/YouTuber/vlogger, writer and blogger. Now it is becoming common for businesses who have offices = office based businesses.

Since I last wrote and published a blog post about the government’s awful intentions to sell GP medical information (which is private and confidential), the government have recently delayed the deadline to two months. Instead of 1st July 2021, it will be 1st September 2021. Giving everyone in England a plenty of time to fill in opt out of allowing GP medical information to be sold to third parties and private firms. t.co 

Well I welcome it. The extension of the opt out deadline. However I am not happy with the government (particularly Matt Hancock the Health Secretary & Prime Minister Boris Johnson) for not consulting with the public regarding about it. Other than secretly wanting to sell off medical information that is confidentially private between yourself (patient) and local GP.

At least I will have plenty of time to fill in my opt out because I know for sure that I do not approve it. 

Lastly, I come across this petition which I recommend everybody including those who live in England to sign the petition.

They care about themselves and self interests & making policies as if that would suit well with the British public (which that doesn’t suit well with me in terms of passing my medical information = my NHS Data to third parties & private companies).

This is going to be only time that I talk about my Google Adsense earning in relations to money and finance. Because for me, it is confidential. At least it is going to be one off given I am careful person & that I wouldn’t want to share anything that is personal or confidential unless I feel I should do so. My first ever Google Adsense earning. 😀🙂 as I earned money. £5.32. Not bad as it is a start. Good start as I used advertisement in my blog. 😀🙂

I hope for this new month (June) & afterwards, I’ll earn more than £5.32.

My goal is still looking for employment so that I feel I have two jobs. One paid job and another is the one that I am currently doing while getting paid from Google. Google Adsense. One person told me that I should consider of being self employed. Well I will say is that I am not paying myself a money and my blog is not even a company website. I created a blog of my own. Solely to have a passion so I don’t have anything desire to turn my blog into registered company website because I do not wish to be employer in the sense that I should have buildings and all of that. & how would I fit in as self employed given I am a writer & blogger? Unless if I were to have a book publishing business then yes, i would need to be self employed & being my own boss. So i do not really have to go for self employed as I am not a sole trader. Unless if I do go for the job that is freelancing as an freelancer (because my blog is not a business & like I said, I don’t have a desire for that) then maybe. So I do not have anything interests to be businessman. Other than being a content creator. 

So that is the purpose of me looking for work of any type (even my preference of type of job like office, IT, creative/arts, music, films & even hospitality, retail/charity or anything business wise). Me being an blogger means I can use this as a backup job (& earning extra money. Regardless if it is tax free or not) and that I do work remotely (& being flexible). I can even work anywhere (including my work). That is how being blogger is all about. 

My blog is not even about me as an blogger. it is all about how passionate I am when I write blog posts of any topic. It is all about you my readers. You are my audience. 😀🙂 At the end of day, that is what I do and I have been doing for 6 months since late 2020 & that I will continue to do so. After all, I am content creator. Not just a blogger and writer. ✍️ You know YouTubers & vloggers earn money because they are just ordinary people like us & not businessmen. It is about increasing web traffic, revenue and managing ad units both on Blogger, blogging sites and YouTube. It benefits vloggers and bloggers. Blogger and vlogger can be anything. Traveller, adventurer, commentator (media, sports, politics, entertainment), singer, musician (either being in the band or being solo musician), teacher, translator, documentary, interview, reviewer, gamer, lifestyle, fashion. It can be any topic in general. That is why we live in the digital age. 

Who knows. Maybe one of you my readers may potentially be my employer. 

Au Revior the English language in the EU?

When I first read the article, my mind was like “this can’t be true”. t.co 

English is a European language as much of other European languages like French, Spanish, Dutch, Portuguese and German. English is West Germanic language, originally from England and world language international since it is indeed 3rd spoken language in the world behind Spanish & Chinese Mandarin. 🇪🇸🇨🇳

There are two EU member states that has the English as official language: Ireland & Malta. 🇮🇪🇲🇹 Brexiteers would go mad over this. The English language being diminished in the EU institutions. 

So English will still be the working language of the European Union post Brexit as the UK left the bloc on 31st January 2020, it is that 27 remaining EU member states and institutions would speak more of European languages like French and German as if English is somewhat not being spoken which I doubt it would happen. I even told my grandma (my mum’s mum which unfortunately supports Brexit) who lives in South Africa, didn’t seem to realise that English is the EU’s working language. Saying “how many those EU countries speak English”. Well before Brexit, there were three. The United Kingdom, Ireland and Malta. Since 31st January 2020, it is just Ireland and Malta as there are two. 

So with Macron (French President) wants to replace English with the French language as the EU’s working language, it reminds me of Jean Claude Juncker (then EU commission president) in 2017 said that English is “losing EU clout”. Losing importance. The English language losing importance in the EU27.  

Brexit is really the disadvantage & with the idea of the English language being diminished in the EU institutions, you can cast a blame on the leavers (not the EU27) who has no common sense whatsoever & really are small minded. Let’s hope that better not be the case. 

We all know that many students from EU & non EU nations come to the UK universities to learn & speak English as second or third language given that those who speak English as first language (like myself) are English speaking countries (the UK, USA, Canada, New Zealand and Australia. The Five Eye) including ex British colonies like South Africa, Bahamas, Ghana, Nigeria and Guyana. So the English language should continue in the EU institutions as working language alongside French and German despite the UK not being an member of the European Union. French replacing the English as the EU’s working language just because the UK is not in the EU anymore, it won’t work. After all there are Ireland & Malta who are only two EU member states who has English as the official languages besides their own National languages: Irish and Maltese. 

If that is to be the case with English not being spoken in all EU bodies other than French, German & other languages of the European Union member states, then that is on the Brexiteers. 🇪🇺🇫🇷🇩🇪

So I pray that the EU27 will not say Au Revior (goodbye in French) to the English language. 🇬🇧

My legal challenge against Travel Unravel

I would like to update you guys about my legal challenge against Travel Unravel Private Holidays Limited & my bank Barclays.

In April few months ago, I completed the judgement document against Travel Unravel as my dad told me to (I typed my name & my court claim number). Then my dad (given I know that he has a lot of lawyer expertise as he was a lawyer) advised me to not do anything like sending it to County Court Money Claims Centre. Having a concern that we would be doing on two different things. One with Barclays & one with Travel Unravel. Which I understood him but I said to him that we could had gone ahead to issue judgment so that the judge could had grant it to send bailiffs to repossess anything that belongs to Travel Unravel Private Holidays Limited. Even their business is online (as I know they are very dodgy & fraudulently not legit travel company). 

As I know for sure that they (Travel Unravel never response to it either by email or letter except Barclays as lawyers had done that via email on their behalf & that they are based in Bristol. Sometime soon, I am yet to hear their own defence to it).  I even sent a letter to them by granting a extension for another two weeks or so & that I already received a letter from court that confirms that my bank is having a little more to response.

Then few weeks later, I received a letter from lawyers TLP on Barclays’s behalf. My instant reaction. I will not discontinue my claim. They might be correct that fraudulent transaction which was done was debit card. However it doesn’t excuse the fact that Barclays put me in overdraft debt (taking the same amount £522.23 when Barclays did refunded me) when my bank balance was almost £200 & that I was in debt for short time until my mum added money (£354.19), bringing my balance back to the normality. So the response from Barclays is incredibly weak & failure for them to acknowledge my claim (given I know that I expected to be their own defence). Travel Unravel continues to not giving any response cos they are not legitimate travel agent company & won’t want to give response at all. I already informed everything to my dad about this. 

Then TLP would sent me two more emails next few weeks in the few weeks of last month May, one with summary judgment (what I saw is nothing but a fighting word) given I didn’t wanted their unsolicited advice to add pressure on me to withdraw my legal challenge against both Barclays & Travel Unravel. It is a wind up. It’s almost if they want to intimidate me by wanting to withdraw my legal case. Knowing that I have a evidence. They (Barclays’s lawyers TLP) have not provided evidence that is different to mine. They can say that I have “no legal basis” what they like, it doesn’t change anything and it doesn’t really mean that I do not have a definite proof of why I was victimised of fraud and scam. Knowingly fraud have took place & that flight ticket from Travel Unravel was never issued. No duty of care from my bank Barclays. 

One way or another, I will have my money back. 

Plus I have already posted a judgment against Travel Unravel last week (although I did posted the first one & it was missing. Never been delivered to County Court. I sent a second envelope & that it was delivered. Signed for) so I hope and pray that there should be a judgement on that matter & hopefully, I can move forward, hoping the outcome would be great and suitable. That is all I can say about this. I don’t often talk about things that happened in my personal life.

GP records should never be up for sale

Recently I was alarmed when I read the news sources about the government’s plans to gather up all GP medical records in England to be up for sale by adding on NHS Digital. 😮🚨

How on earth is the public not being consulted regarding the government’s contemptible intentions to sell off GP medical records (including mine & yours = ours) to third parties and private firms? It is shockingly unbelievable. I am not going to allow my GP medical record which is confidentially personal and private to be ever sold and harvested to third parties. No way!!! 😠

Prime Minister Boris Johnson can go to hell & other cabinet ministers. Given they (Conservatives)  are the party of privatisation. Even Jeremy Corbyn (then Labour leader) challenged him (Boris Johnson) in 2019 UK general election challenge, accusing him of plans to sell off the NHS.

Boris Johnson (Prime Minister) insisted that the NHS will not be privatised.

Selling the NHS off to US Corporations and for what? Selling GP records to private firms & third parties is the start of this? For profit!!? What a shocker!!! 

This is really NHS Data Grab. Very appalling. 

Guys, if you live in England like me, we have got until 23rd June to opt out of our GP medical records to be shared & sold. I will opt out. 

This is tech authoritarianism and that can be used & it would be open for hacking, identity theft & anything dodgy that could potentially be privacy and security problems. Even if it is anonymised because I know for one do not trust the government. 

GP records should never be up for sale. It is outrageous that the idea of selling confidential & personal information such as GP medical records for marketing purposes is allowed quietly by the government (Tories under three prime ministers since 2010) who have underfunded the National Health Service and that they would see NHS to be under privatisation. 

This is between patient and doctor at GP regarding medical information. Anything from GP appointments to health information about the person (mental health, sexual health, prescriptions, etc). Yet the Conservative govt have a screw loose & wanting to sell it. All for commercial purposes.

So guys, please do fill in opt outs (paper & online) to make sure your GP records is not to be sold to third parties & private companies. This only applies to anyone who lives in England.

Abortion is a choice

Blog post about sensitive social topic. 

Abortion. Divisive subject that divided everyone’s opinions in all societies. 

Let me explain what is abortion. Just in case if no one knows the meaning of it or not heard of it. 

An abortion is a procedure to end a pregnancy. 

Pregnant woman who feels that she doesn’t want to have a kid due to her circumstance or being victimised of rape.

There is a lot that I want to say about it despite I don’t often talk about the topic like sensitive topic (abortion). Here is my take. 

Personally, I am against abortion but to deny the right for those who want to have abortion including in awful circumstance when woman is being victimised of rape, it is very wrong. I am pro choice. You can be pro choice & still disagree on abortion. 

How can the person be “pro life” if they are strongly against abortion but to not allow women to have the right to go to abortion clinic due to circumstances including rape. Abortion is legal. 

Why is the topic even being divisive in countries like the United States? American Conservatives (Republicans) opposes abortion & the right to have abortion. They even claim that they are Christians (& evangelicals) & that they want 1973 Supreme Court ruling Roe v. Wade to be overturned. bbc.co.uk Even in Republican states, they outlawed abortion by making it criminalised & does not include an exception of rape. Abortion ban to deprive women even if she is raped & that GOP politicians made it harder to give access to abortion clinics. That is not right. Not right morally.

There are some Christians who are pro choice despite not all of them are pro choice & it doesn’t matter what the Bible say as there aren’t clear answer about the topic. That’s where it comes into a play. Division regarding those who are pro life and those who are pro choice. Regardless of religion.

Even Northern Ireland when Northern Irish women came to Britain to have access to clinics for having the right to abort a unborn baby at the time when abortion was not legal. Coming to England from NI. google.co.uk 

Few years ago, Ireland (Republic of Ireland) voted overwhelmingly to overturn the ban on abortion 

I understand that it is an sensitive topic. However denying the right to abortion is just violation of human rights. Abortion is a choice. 

Next time when woman wants to have abortion because of her circumstances, at least respect her own decision & wishes even you might not like it. After all, abortion is legal here in the UK. Unless you happen to live in the country where abortion is illegal. 

Abortion shouldn’t really be a divisive topic at all. The reason why it is a divisive & “controversial” topic is where some people in the minority  who doesn’t approve her choice of aborting a unborn child due to her circumstances (& being victim of rape). So let’s us all just acknowledge that we live in the society where is democracy, freedom, tolerance and human rights. Without it, it would had been under the dictatorship.
