Bullfighting: Outdated Spanish cultural tradition and bloodsport

Bullfighting: Outdated Spanish cultural tradition and bloodsport

Since I understand that the bullfighting is Spanish cultural tradition. However it is completely outdated & I believe that you cannot have a cultural tradition based on animal cruelty & bloodsport. This is why I am against bullfighting.

Plus when I was kid, I recall watching the episode of Looney Tunes (I love Looney Tunes by the way). Showing the episode called “Bully for Bugs”. Toro the bull and Bugs Bunny being the matador in Mexico at bullring stadium. I can’t comprehend why bullfighting was portrayed & glorified.

Portraying it as “fun”. There is no fun in that when it comes to animal cruelty & blood sports since bullfighting is part of it.

Furthermore, Catalonia is the only Spanish region to ban bullfighting which the Spanish government is not impressed about it. en.wikipedia.org

They (the government of Spain) even overturned the ban in 2016 but so far, no bullfighting have took place in Catalonia despite the ban is still in effect and it has been in effect since 2012. πŸ‡ͺπŸ‡Έ

So for the people to attend bullring (stadium) and supporting bullfighting & opposing the ban on bullfighting, they are tend to be conservative. Even those who are non Spaniards.

Example: Boris Johnson. t.co

It is hard to believe that then the UK Foreign Secretary now the UK Prime Minister in 2017 supported bullfighting that upsets the Spanish guests. Still to this day, Boris Johnson supports bullfighting & that he said bid to ban bullfighting is “political correctness gone mad”.

And recently, bullfighting have resumed in Spain and the man was gored to death by a bull. google.co.uk google.co.uk First time since the start of the coronavirus pandemic last year & lockdown measures as it had severely affected the revenues of the bullfighting businesses in Spain. amp.france24.com pri.org politico.eu

Not even the pandemic can put a end to the brutal business of killing innocent cattle with sword. So because of that, bullfighting should had been ended by the pandemic. I hope one day, the bullfighting activities across Spain and other Spanish speaking countries & even Portugal & France will eventually be over.

For those who supports bullfighting, not only they support the blood sport, they are automatically supporting animal cruelty. Like I said at the start of the paragraph, you cannot have a cultural tradition that is based on animal cruelty and bloodsport. Whether is Spain or any country, animal cruelty & bloodsports in all forms is never acceptable. Killing an innocent bulls all for entertainment. For that, I do not think that bullfighting is an entertainment. I even have two Spanish friends (one who lives in Barcelona, Catalonia & another one who lives in Almeria, Andalusia) who are strongly against bullfighting.

That is all I can say about my opinion on Bullfighting.

Travel destinations that I would love to go part 3

Hi everybody

This is part 3 of my blog post. Travel Destinations that I would love to go.

In my previous blog post, I added 7 countries that I would love to go. I added Belgium, Portugal, Ghana, Mexico, Ireland, China & Jamaica. Read my previous blog post about it. mrlimitless95.blogspot.com

So now I am adding more countries on the list that I would love to visit.

  1. Greece πŸ‡¬πŸ‡·πŸ‡ͺπŸ‡Ί
Ahh Greece. What I can say about the beautiful country? They (the Greeks) have a wonderful history, culture & interesting facts. Everything from democracy to mathematics. Athens is the place that I would want to go & beautiful beaches. Another European country that relies on tourism just like Spain, Portugal and France as it is one of the most visited countries in Europe. πŸ™‚πŸ˜€

2. Austria πŸ‡¦πŸ‡ΉπŸ‡ͺπŸ‡Ί

Austria. German speaking country. I cannot think of anything except Vienna. Because when I think of Austria, I think of the Austrian capital Vienna and the beauty of the city.

Oh & I want to give you my readers a heads up. Try not to confuse Austria with Australia because of the sound pronunciation of the name of the country. I am just saying. πŸ˜€πŸ™‚

3. Hong Kong πŸ‡πŸ‡°

Despite the current situation and the fact that is part of China, I would definitely love to visit Hong Kong. At least I won’t try to talk about politics even I don’t like the actions of the Chinese government from Beijing in my own opinion. With HK, It has everything. It has a public transport, skyscrapers (that explains why the city is a business and financial hub) and the recent history when it was under British rule which can tells the success of city state.  Plus did you know Hong Kong means “fragrant harbour”? Well now you know. πŸ™‚πŸ˜€

4. Japan πŸ‡―πŸ‡΅

Japan is another dream travel destination that I would love to visit because Japan is so advanced country economically and technologically. The country who just recently hosted the 2020 games (Olympics and Paralympics) this year in Tokyo due to the effects of the pandemic which was originally scheduled last year that was cancelled.

When I think of Japan, obviously I think of Godzilla, Anime, Ninja, blossoms, buildings, culture, public transport, high speed trains & Japanese food including sushi & noodles

5. Turkey πŸ‡ΉπŸ‡·

Turkey. Home of the Turkish delight sweets. Istanbul is the city that connects Europe and Asia so that will be the place I will definitely go there and Ankara (Turkish capital). I hope one day that I will have my wonderful moments in Turkey & that would be really a Turkish delight with me being delighted in Turkey.

6. New Zealand πŸ‡³πŸ‡Ώ

If Australia is one thing that everybody thinks about & only visit there, New Zealand is another thing that everyone must know & not having to exclude out the country that is near to OZ.

NZ is really an interestingly beautiful country & it is one of the places that I would go to visit if I do have a chance to visit there. When I do eventually, it will be both nations. Australia and New Zealand. I even already mentioned Australia on my previous blog post part 1 Like Australia, flight duration from the UK to New Zealand is almost 24 hours = Jet lag. At least Brits do have families there in New Zealand nonetheless since the nation do have common history with the United Kingdom.

7. Wales πŸ΄σ §σ ’󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

Lastly, Wales.

Wales is another place that I would want to visit the UK domestically outside England & besides Scotland (which I also want to visit there too).

If I am going to Wales, that will be Cardiff & maybe other places. Wales is culturally the home of Doctor Who. Like the Scottish accent, I also like the Welsh accent (example celebrities, famous faces & public figures from singer Tom Jones to BBC News presenter Huw Edwards). I say as an Englishman with African heritage (half South African & half Nigerian). I even met some people who are from Wales and I know for the fact that Prince Charles is the Prince of Wales & Diana Spencer (Princess Diana. Princess of Wales). That is all I know about Wales.

So that would be it for now. Until next time for another list of anymore places that I would love to visit in the world. πŸ—ΊπŸŒπŸŒŽπŸŒπŸ™‚πŸ˜€✈️πŸš„

All Aboard: Trains from Spain to the UK

Last week I have been reading on business news and train news about the idea that Eurostar could possibly have a direct competitor for the first time in 27 years since the launch of Eurostar trains in 1994 and the trains will be from the Kingdom of Spain.

Renfe: Hola, I am Renfe from Spain and I would love to travel to the UK πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§to compete with Eurostar. Trains from the UK to Spain via France. πŸš„πŸ‡ͺπŸ‡ΈEurostar: Challenge is accepted. I have been wanting competition for a long time. πŸš„πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§πŸ‡«πŸ‡·πŸ‡§πŸ‡ͺπŸ‡³πŸ‡±πŸ‡ͺπŸ‡Ί Based on my imaginations regarding the news about the idea of travelling to Spanish destinations via trains from the UK. πŸš„πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§πŸ‡«πŸ‡·πŸ‡ͺπŸ‡Έ

This is very good idea. The idea of going to Spain from the UK with trains. 27 years on since the launch of Eurostar in 1994. Eurostar never had an direct competition with any European train operator.

Even there was almost the plan for Eurostar to have direct competition with German rail operator DB but that have not materialised unfortunately. πŸ‡©πŸ‡ͺ

Now the idea of Eurostar going to Germany will happen in next few years with the merger of Thalys which I talked about it on my previous blog post with Eurostar trains expanding the routes to Germany, I guess train destinations from Spain will also happen. Eurostar would had expand the train routes to Spain as well. Since Renfe (Spanish Rail operator) expressed the interest of wanting to expand train routes from Spain to the UK across the English Channel (the Channel), they have a direct train route to France with the partnership of SNCF. renfe-sncf.com renfe-sncf.com

So for that to happen given the UK is no longer an member of the European Union and it was not member of the Schengen Area like other EU countries in mainland Europe: France, Belgium, Netherlands, Germany, Spain, etc. There would have to be an cross Channel border control (Juxtaposed controls) as there are border controls in Eurostar terminals from the the UK to continental Europe so that would be something for Renfe to work out something out for British travellers who want to come to Espana without booking airline flight tickets to go on the plane (the likes of EasyJet, British Airways, Iberia & Vueling) & same goes for Spanish travellers. Especially that going on the train than on the plane is environmental friendly in order to minimise carbon footprint. Even the train journeys from the UK to Spain via France will be long. Longer journeys.

So yeah. Good news for the business if that is made in reality. Especially that I am a train lover. πŸš„πŸ™‚πŸ˜€

Perhaps one day I would love to visit Spain again. Without going on the plane and that I could also visit to destinations in Spain like Madrid and visiting Barcelona again. πŸ˜€πŸ™‚πŸ‡ͺπŸ‡Έ

More foodbanks in the UK than McDonald’s

Today’s blog post is about food banks and why there are more than McDonald’s restaurants in the UK.

Before I begin, I would like to give a shoutout to St Paul’s Church and that I want to say thank you to food bank Finchley and food bank Colindale.

Every Monday weekly on Twitter, I am always happy to be included (tagged) on St Paul’s Finchley tweet to see the amazing work of what they are doing to help those who are in need. twitter.com Also every time when I go shopping at my local Waitrose supermarket in Mill Hill, I always see the drop off points by food bank Colindale and that I would often see the car, picking up the items (particularly everything from food items to non food items like toiletries) so that people who are really in need can get the items at food bank. So I thought I would like to mention both St Paul’s Finchley & Food bank Colindale. Even my friend of mine who published his blog post few years ago about the work of food bank Colindale. barneteye.blogspot.com

You can read more about them on their websites. Finchley food bank and Colindale food bank colindale.foodbank.org.uk finchleyfoodbank.org.uk

Anyways why are more food banks in the UK than McDonald’s? Simple answer is because the austerity measures implemented by the government when the Conservatives came to power in 2010 and because of that, it contributed to the rise of food banks in the United Kingdom. Even throughout the coronavirus pandemic, food banks have been on the rise. We all ask ourselves why are the people in need have been going to food banks.

It is because those who are needy are people like us.

Look at this infographic statistics.

This is all according to the Trussell Trust.

It is now already over the week since Autumn Budget 2021 Yet the Tories under David Cameron, Theresa May and Boris Johnson say that austerity is “living off your means” & claiming that it is over. Well austerity cuts are far from over as I mentioned on my previous blog post.

Because of the impact of austerity and other factors: tight budgets, pay cut, cuts to benefit/welfare money, debt problems, financial/money problems, people living in poverty and not having a home, that contributes to the fact why food banks have been rising since 2010. Prior to 2010, it was not always the case regarding food banks because it have not existed. Yet, this is 2021 & soon it will be 2022, food banks exists and it is all mainly because of the government’s austerity policy that brings misery to some people who are affected. I even talked about on my other previous blog post about DWP & why they awfully treats benefit claimants who are disabled, poor, unemployed, homeless & those who genuinely have a health problems with benefit sanctions, benefit cuts, and benefit assessment test (such as fit to work/work capability assessment).

All of that are interlinked and that is why food banks have been rising for the last couple of years. Dramatic rise even in the Covid pandemic given the rise of food banks have been happening pre pandemic.

Even two previous Prime Ministers (David Cameron & Theresa May) were ignorant about the topic food banks rising in the UK. youtu.be youtu.be and the current Prime Minister (Boris Johnson) talks about “levelling up” the country. Well all I can say is there is no way you can level up Britain while the impact of austerity is still weighing on that contributes to the rise of food banks. I don’t want to live in the society where the government looks down on the people who are really in need due to their harmful and despicable policy. Showing that they (the govt) are out of touch with people’s lives and finances. The UK is the world’s 5th largest economy and yet, we the developed country are behaving like a third world country. I even said about it on my September blog post. No wonder Brexit have really undermined the UK’s standing in the world with the divisive topic (Brexit = UK’s exit from the EU) & that the government can’t even get their act together of ending the cuts that severely affected every ordinary citizen like you and me. Because of their unacceptable austerity measures, that is why there are more food banks than McDonald’s in the UK and that is sad. Very heartbreakingly sad.

So now you know there are more food banks in Britain than McDonald’s. I’m not lovin it. It is very sad truth.

Once more, I would like to thank food bank volunteers in Finchley and Colindale & all other places throughout the country for their incredible work to help out the people who are in need & does need food items and non food items.

My blog Adsense statistics

This is going to be quite important and interesting blog post guys. I want to tell you about statistics. Blog statistics. πŸ“‰πŸ“ŠπŸ“ˆ

If you have been following me for awhile since I first launched my blog nearly a year ago then you will be aware that earlier this year I added advertisement on this blog after linking it to Google Adsense despite I waited months after I first link it in January this year. With me earning money as an blogger (eventually one day that will be a long time for me to pursue it as an career & me being a writer) while currently for work (real paid job) in my personal life, here are the blog statistics. Dating back to May this year to August and September.

My blog AdSense statistics

All the photos that I have attached is all about blog statistics and web traffics (blog traffics).

Here are the breakdowns based on the information that I screenshot it while logging on my Google account.

Regarding my blog stats, my website traffic went down in August by 13% and 20% in September. Regarding the ad revenues that I earned money as a blogger.

May was the best month. Especially after I had waited for so long to place advertisement on my blog (given January this year I started the process to link it to my blog) & Adsense alternative websites were not so good as Google Adsense.

Although recently I run the experiment just to see how I can get more people to visit my blog by reading my previous blog posts and upcoming blog posts.

Given I published 22 blog posts in October, I hope the web traffic will be in good steady positions and that it won’t stay low. Ad revenues. I am yet to know about October report so I hope for this month will be better one.

Finally, I want you my readers to understand that things happens. It is not too bad.

It is mainly about my efforts so it is not something I would be upset about. Other than me feeling quite shocked. As an blogger, I wouldn’t worry much about the stats. All I care is writing blog posts & reaching people to read my blog. That is all matters.

I am proud of myself & my blogging work as an blogger.

Anyways what it matters is how I reach people to read my blog posts and that I am not really that bothered about the stats as long I keep on doing my thing as a blogger to write and publish many great blog posts. πŸ˜€πŸ™‚

And later this month, it will be one year (29th November 2020) since I created my blog (Mr Limitless 95) so there will be a special blog post to mark a one year anniversary so stay tuned for that. πŸ™‚πŸ˜€✍🏾✍

That is all I can say about my blog Adsense stats.

Read my previous blog posts more about Google Adsense.

My Halloween blog message

Hi everybody

This is going to be a brief blog post but I want to wish you a happy Halloween. πŸ˜€πŸ™‚πŸ‘»πŸŽƒ

Whether you do celebrate it or not, or trick or treating, listening to Halloween songs, watching Halloween films or whatever the Halloween party, I just want to let you know about today’s public holiday that is being celebrated across the world except some nations who does not celebrate Halloween.

Also I do not really celebrate Halloween in the sense that I would go to trick or treating and all that stuff. Other than that, leaving a paper message. Saying that “we don’t celebrate Halloween”. Except only listening to Halloween songs & watching Halloween films (as long it is not too graphic). So for that, I treat this holiday as a “Scooby Do type of holiday that is mixture of celebrating and not celebrating”.

So yeah, enjoy your day everybody & try not to scare everybody so much. πŸ‘»

Hahaha!!!! (That’s me laughing). As if I was a pumpkin. πŸŽƒ But yeah really, enjoy your day. Happy Halloween.

Halloween song honourable mention

Earlier today, I published my blog post with top ten Halloween song playlist with 10 songs ranked by me. mrlimitless95.blogspot.com

I did say in my previous blog post today that I would just stick to having a top ten Halloween songs unless you my reader wants to make a request.

Now there is one request and that I would like to include a song on the list of my Halloween song playlist. The song that has been requested by my Spanish friend.

Honourable mention: Ladyhawke - Dusk Till Dawn

Now that definitely sounds like spooky Halloween song. Even a music video does count it too. So yeah, great Halloween song with elements of electro pop, indie rock and new wave.

So that is it. Halloween song honourable mention.

That makes up 11 songs in total. πŸŽƒπŸ‘»πŸŽ΅πŸŽΆ

Happy Halloween Everybody.
